Abstract
The twentieth century marks a turning point in the conception of childhood. The adult world focuses on the care of new generations and writes for them, children’s literature is born. A literature in which the humour is the key to everything read and written. Two vital spaces are distinguished. On the one hand, the so-called «mundo de arriba» inhabited by adults and where the «real» reality is perceived. Furthermore, the «mundo de abajo», a «disguised» reality created by adults for children in order to protect and show them only the beauty of life. In this sense, is it appropriate to teach children the «mundo de arriba»? Does the «mundo de abajo» represent a cosmos so far from adults’ world? The answer is negative; therefore, literature is a basic tool to teach children to live with the «intoxicated». This coexistence is favoured by the promotion of literatura de la esperanza whose writers must «fish» and / or «grow», ie, pursue and sow hope and values. And, how is this literature created taking into account the truth? Through the possible readings of the world: lie, truth and the elaborated truth. The latter one is the essence, writing a truth that advocates for tenderness and care in controversial themes. In short, there are not adult or children’s issues, the difference lies in the perspective.
