George Borrow y su obra en Pío Baroja y Miguel de Unamuno

Resumen

1 El autor esboza la biografía y la trayectoria de George Borrow por España entre 1836 y 1840 como agente de la Sociedad Bíblica Británica. Luego recoge las huellas y estimaciones que de este escritor anglicano y de sus obras ha encontrado en la producción literaria de Pío Baroja y de Miguel de Unamuno. De forma tangencial aparece en el artículo la condición heterodoxa de otros españoles del siglo XIX.

Abstract

The author outlines the life and career of George Borrow in Spain between 1836 and 1840 as an agent of the British and Foreign Bible Society. Then, he presents the legacy and influence that this Anglican writer and his works left in the literary production of Pío Baroja and Miguel de Unamuno. Finally, the article also touches on the heterodox condition of other Spaniards in the 19th Century.
