Abstract
This paper analyzes the period that the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda lived in Spain at the beginning of the Civil War. This fact will mark the nerudian aesthetic generating a shift in his poetry, identifiable until then by romanticism, decadentism and surrealism. The influence of the poets of the Generation of 27 and the programmatic promulgation of a poetry without purity will henceforth be an encounter with the materiality of a world that is now recognizable, socially and politically.
